German Imperative Rules — Imperativ (du)
1. Remove “du”Use the command without the subject: du gehst → Geh!
2. Use the verb stemMany commands use the stem; final -e is often optional: Mach!, Komm!, Warte!
3. Split separable verbsThe prefix goes to the end: aufstehen → Steh auf!
4. Keep reflexive “dich”Setz dich hin! and Richte dich auf!
5. Watch strong verbsnehmen → Nimm!; geben → Gib!; sprechen → Sprich!
6. This app uses “du”These are informal singular commands. ihr and polite Sie commands use different forms.
