Finnish Imperative Rules — Käskymuoto (sinä)
1. Omit “sinä”The subject is normally left out: sinä tulet → Tule!; sinä menet → Mene!
2. Use the singular imperative stemCommon forms include puhu!, avaa!, sulje!, aloita! and lopeta!
3. Learn stem changesottaa → Ota!; antaa → Anna!; nousta → Nouse!; tehdä → Tee!
4. Direction endings mattervasemmalle/oikealle show movement toward a direction; pöydälle/pöydältä mean onto/from the table.
5. Objects in positive commandsA complete object often appears in the total-object form: Avaa ovi!, Ota kynä!, Sulje kirja!
6. Negative and plural commandsNegative: Älä mene! Plural/polite: Tulkaa!, Menkää! This app practises informal singular commands.
