European Portuguese (pt-PT) pronunciation: nh = /ɲ/ (banho); lh = /ʎ/ (filho); j = /ʒ/ (janela); ch = /ʃ/ (chá); c before e/i = /s/ (cidade); ão is nasal (pão). Unstressed vowels are often reduced; final s can sound like “sh” before a pause. The letter h is silent.
